A patio for all seasons.

This Northville Township, Michigan project features a custom MagnaTrack screen system installed at Art & Jake’s Sports Bar & Grill to extend the usability of their covered patio. While the structure was already in place, the space was limited by seasonal weather and sun exposure. The Skyview team designed and installed vinyl MagnaTrack screens to enclose the patio, allowing the restaurant to retain heat during colder months and reduce glare from the setting sun. The result is a more comfortable dining environment that can be used across more seasons, helping the business maximize seating capacity and generate additional revenue.
A simple upgrade that extends patio season.
This project features MagnaTrack vinyl screens installed on an existing covered patio at Art & Jake’s Sports Bar & Grill. The system allows the patio to be enclosed during colder months to retain heat, while also providing sun control and comfort during peak dining hours. It’s a cost-effective solution that significantly increases the usability of the space.
Make the patio usable year-round.
The team at Art & Jake’s in Northville Township already had a covered patio, but it wasn’t being used to its full potential. Cold weather and direct sunlight limited when guests could comfortably sit outside. The goal was to create a more controlled environment that would allow the restaurant to use the space across more seasons, improve guest comfort, and ultimately increase revenue from additional seating.

“We already had the patio, we just weren’t getting full use out of it. We needed a way to make it more comfortable for guests and keep it open longer throughout the year.””

MagnaTrack Screens
This project features MagnaTrack vinyl screens designed to enclose an existing covered patio without sacrificing visibility or light. The screens help retain heat during colder months, reduce wind exposure, and block direct sunlight when needed. Custom black borders were incorporated to minimize glare from the setting sun, improving comfort for guests during peak dining hours. It’s a practical, high-impact solution for restaurants looking to extend their patio season and increase usable seating.
“By enclosing the patio, they’re able to use the space more often and create a better experience for their guests.”
— Trevor Calero, Skyview Detroit Owner & CEO
The biggest impact of this project is how it changes the value of the space. Instead of being limited by weather and sun exposure, the patio can now be used more consistently throughout the year. For restaurants, that means more available seating, better guest comfort, and a clear return on investment from an existing space.
“Skyview Detroit made the process straightforward and helped us find a solution that worked with the structure we already had. It’s made a noticeable difference in how we use the patio.”
