This Grosse Pointe conservatory project was designed with a very specific purpose: year-round performance training. Built as a custom free-standing glass roof conservatory, this space houses a swim spa that allows the homeowner to train consistently regardless of the season. With full climate control and expansive glass construction, the structure delivers natural light, protection from the elements, and a high-performance environment tailored for daily use.

As an active Ironman competitor, this Grosse Pointe, MI homeowner needed a reliable way to train year-round without being limited by Michigan’s climate. Outdoor pools were not a viable solution for consistent training, especially in the colder months. The vision was to create a dedicated space that would allow uninterrupted swim training while still feeling open, bright, and connected to the outdoors. A custom glass conservatory provided the perfect solution, combining performance functionality with a clean, architectural design.

This custom glass roof conservatory was designed as a fully independent structure, purpose-built to house a swim spa and perform in all four seasons.
